To seed the number within the NPCI mapper you need to follow the steps given below.
- Visit the branch where you hold an account.
- Duly fill the consent form and submit it.
- Bank verifies consent form, verifies documents, and authenticates the signature of the customer.
- The bank links the Aadhaar to the account details stored on the CBS (Core Banking System).
- The UID number gets seeded in the NPCI mapper.
- Maximum of two working days are required.
Follow the steps given below to check the status of Aadhaar linking in NPCI.
- Approach your bank and request for Aadhaar seeding screenshot.
- Check and confirm if the status of Aadhaar is ‘Active’.
- If the status is ‘Active’- Aadhaar number has been linked to the account of the customer by the bank.
- If not, one of the following possibilities can be expected.
- Bank has failed to link the Aadhaar number to the individual’s account in their CBS.
- Aadhaar number has not been seeded with the NPCI mapper.
- Get in touch with the bank to resolve the issue.
- You could also get in touch with a customer service cell.
- The branch has the responsibility to get it solved with the help of their internal team.
- On receiving the Aadhaar number from the customer the bank has to seed the same into the account details of the customer stored on the CBS.
- The Aadhaar number also has to be uploaded in the NPCI mapper.
- For escalations, you could approach the Nodal officers of the bank.
- Check the link https://www.pmjdy.gov.in/contactinfo?id=nodalofficeraadhaar to get the updated contact details list of the respective Nodal officers.
Aadhaar seeding is essential to receive DBT (Direct Benefit Transfers) from various schemes of the government. You may link only a single bank account to your Aadhaar. In case you've linked more than one account to your Aadhaar, the benefits will be credited to the bank that was seeded last.
