Aadhaar issued by the UIDAI (Unique Identification Authority of India) serves as the most important document for identification for an individual living in India. Aadhaar contains a 12 digit unique number for identification along with the demographic and biometric details of the individual. Aadhaar eKYC is done to prove the individual’s identity. Today eKYC done through Aadhaar authentication is one of the most important steps in customer onboarding/ identification, and to avail benefits and subsidies from the government.
Once an individual has applied for an Aadhaar she/he can download a digital copy of the same. The UIDAI has enabled facilities for the Aadhaar holders/enrollees to do it. There are different ways by which the individual can download e-Aadhaar.

Steps To Download Digital Copy Of Aadhaar: Using Aadhaar Number, Enrollment ID, Virtual ID.
Follow the step by step process given below to download the digital copy of Aadhaar.
Log on to https://uidai.gov.in/ or https://eaadhaar.uidai.gov.in/
Click on ‘My Aadhaar’ and select the option ‘Download Aadhaar’
Click on ‘I Have’ and select the option ’Aadhaar’/Enrollment ID’/ ‘VID’/ ‘ from the dropdown
If you’ve selected the ‘Aadhaar’ option type in your Aadhaar number (12 digits)
If the 'VID' option has been selected you need to enter your virtual ID, full name, security code, and pin code
If you have selected the ‘Enrollment ID’ option you need to enter your Enrollment ID Number (14 digits) and 14 digit date and time values
You also need to enter your full name along with the pin code and Captcha Code
To download Masked Aadhaar select the ‘I want a Masked Aadhaar’ option
Type in the Captcha Code for verification
Select ‘Send OTP’ and click on ‘Confirm’ to receive an OTP on your mobile number linked to your Aadhaar
Enter the OTP
Finish the survey
Select the option ‘Verify and Download’ to download a digital copy of your Aadhaar

Log on to https://digilocker.gov.in/
Log in to your DigiLocker account
Select the option ‘Sign In’
Enter your Aadhaar Number
Select ‘Verify’ to receive OTP
Enter the OTP and select the option ‘Verify OTP’
You are directed to the ‘Issued Document’ page
Click on the ‘Save’ button to download your e-Aadhaar
How To Take A Printout Of Your e-Aadhaar?
Follow the directions given below to take a printout of your e-Aadhaar.
To open your e-Aadhaar after downloading it, you need to enter an eight-digit password.
The password comprises of the first four letters of your name and your year of birth.
You can take the printout of the downloaded pdf file online.
CSC Aadhaar print has been authorized by the UIDAI as one of the options to get your e-Aadhaar printout.
You have to pay a prescribed fee to make use of that service.
Now you can use your e-Aadhaar instead of your Aadhaar card whenever required. Unless your mobile number is registered with the UIDAI it wouldn’t be possible for you to download a digital copy of your Aadhaar. This is because the OTP is sent to that particular number for authentication. You won’t be able to download a copy of your e-Aadhaar without the OTP. Make sure your mobile number is linked to your Aadhaar to download and take a printout of your e-Aadhaar.
