The nominee is usually a close family member of the account holder. An e-nomination facility has been launched recently by the EPFO (Employees’ Provident Fund Organization). This was announced in a circular released by the EPFO on the 12th of September 2019. The EPFO has made it mandatory for the EPF account holders to link their Aadhaar to their accounts. Besides, the EPF has also made it compulsory to add the Aadhaar number of the nominee.

The Aadhaar card is one of the most important of all documents that serve as proof of identity for an Indian citizen. This e-KYC is issued by the Unique Identification Authority of India or the UIDAI. An Aadhaar card contains an individual’s personal information along with the demographic and biometric information. Each Aadhaar contains a 12 digit unique number for identification.

Verification of an individual's identity is now quite easy using an Aadhaar e-KYC. This is done through Aadhaar authentication. It is now compulsory for every citizen in India to have an Aadhaar card to avail of several services and subsidies provided by the Indian government.
