The Aadhaar card issued by the UIDAI (Unique Identification Authority of India) serves as an important of all documents proving the identity of an Indian resident/citizen. This ID is also used as proof of residence within our country.
Aadhaar based online KYC is done to prove the identity of an individual. Aadhaar eKYC is done through Aadhaar authentication where the biometric details and the personal information of the individual get submitted to the UIDAI for verification and confirmation of her/his identity.
This means updating the information in your Aadhaar card whenever there is a change is important. When you’ve shifted your residence it is important to update your address on your Aadhaar. This can be done by submitting a request along with the supporting documents to prove your current address.
So, what if you don’t have any valid proof of address? You are required to submit a request for Aadhaar Address Validation Letter.
What Do You Mean By An Aadhaar Address Validation Letter?
In the event where an applicant does not have a valid proof of address, she/he may rely on an address verifier for help. The UIDAI sends the Aadhaar Address Validation Letter to the verifier to ensure the authenticity of the applicant.
The letter holds a secret code that is used for verification and validation. The validation is done once the requesting applicant gets permission from the verifier to use her/his address. Following the successful submission of the request, the applicant will receive the Aadhaar Address Validation Letter.
