Downloading Aadhaar Card
Until recently there were two main ways to download your Aadhaar card. The first method is where you can download it by using your Enrollment number and the second method is by using your Aadhaar number.
Recently the UIDAI has introduced a new method for Aadhaar holders to download their Aadhaar online. You can now download your Aadhaar through Face Authentication. The cardholders can do this online by logging on to the official website of the UIDAI (Unique Identification Authority of India).

How To Download Your Aadhaar Card Online Through Face Authentication? Step By Step Process
Step 1: Log on to the official website of UIDAI https://uidai.gov.in/
Step 2: Select the option “Get Aadhaar Card” (You’ll find this at the bottom of the homepage)
Step 3: You’ll be redirected to another page
Step 4: Find the ‘Aadhaar Card’ section on this page
Step 5: Under this option, you need to find the option "Face Authentication"
Step 6: Type in your mobile number registered with your Aadhaar
Step 7: Enter the CAPTCHA code correctly
Step 8: Now you need to click on the option "Face Authentication"
Step 9: During the process of authentication you are required to verify your face.
Step 10: Click on the option “Ok”
Step 11: The camera of your device will open automatically and your photograph will be clicked by UIDAI
Step 12: UIDAI will verify your photograph
Step 13: Once it has been verified and confirmed successfully you can download your Aadhaar card
Different Forms Of Aadhaar
According to the UIDAI, four different types of Aadhaar are available. All these forms of Aadhaar are valid.
Aadhaar Letter
This is the oldest and most common of all the different forms of Aadhaar available. This is a paper-based letter that is laminated and has a secure QR code. This is sent to the Aadhaar applicant by post and is free of cost.
e-Aadhaar
This is the electronic form of an Aadhaar card that can be downloaded from the official website of the UIDAI using your mobile number linked to your Aadhaar. E-Aadhaar contains a QR code for offline verification along with the date of issue and date of download. This form of Aadhaar is digitally signed by the UIDAI.
m-Aadhaar
This is also a digital form of Aadhaar that you can install on your mobile device.
Aadhaar PVC Card
Introduced by the UIDAI recently the Aadhaar PVC Card can be ordered online. This is the latest form of Aadhaar and you have to pay an amount of Rs.50/- to order it.
The Aadhaar is a biometric document that contains the personal information of the individual along with a unique 12-digit number for identification. Issued by the Unique Identification Authority of India, this document for identification is one of the main ways by which the government of India has been successful in preventing a lot of fraudulent practices involving a fake ID.
